Won Garden Centre of the Year 2005

Ruskington Garden Centre are pleased to announce that we have won the prestigious award of
Garden Centre of the Year 2005. This award is given to the best Garden Centre in the category with a
turnover of up to £2 million.
The Garden Centre retail awards were sponsored by the Horticultural Trades Association, Lindt Chocolates, The Grower Magazine and a group of important garden suppliers and manufacturers. This event is run by Nexus Horticulture who publish The Grower Magazine.
The awards ceremony was held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, Hyde Park, London on Wednesday 23rd November 2005. The award ceremony was compared by Sandy Toksvig. The award was received by Mr & Mrs G W Elkington,and Mr & Mrs S H Elkington, owners of Ruskington Garden Centre.
This is a fabulous achievement for Ruskington Garden Centre as the award is nationwide and is entered by the best of the United Kingdom's garden retailing industry. Our Coffee Shop was also finalist for Coffee Shop of the Year.
This is a huge credit to our wonderful team of staff who work in the Garden Centre and the Coffee Shop.

As a company we believe that the training of our staff is an important part of our
continual strive to provide excellent customer service. To this end, several of our staff have attended a variety of training courses ranging from fist aid to Weber bbq training days !
The HTA have launched "The Garden Retail Diploma" which is a twelve month specialist qualification for garden centre employees. We have recently enrolled Rebecca on this course and in the coming months she may well be calling upon our customers for their "constructive" feedback on the service we provide. Watch this space !!
